AGRICULTURE IN THE BAHAMAS

BAMSI President, Wm.J. Godfrey Eneas signed MOU with
the University of Miami’s Rosensteil School. A graduate
of the School, Dr. Valliere Deleveaux, Head of BAMSI’s
Marine Department is pictured on the left of the photo.
The President of the Ocean University of China, Professor
Yu Zhigang received a gift from the President of the
Bahamas Agriculture and Marine Science Institute
(BAMSI), Wm.J. Godfrey Eneas at the Institute in North
Andros, The Bahamas.

OCU/BAMSI have an MOU which enables faculty and
student exchanges and well as collaboration on research
matters.
The Bahamas Ambassador to the UN’s Food and
Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome, Italy presented
his credentials to The Director- General, Jose Graziano
Da Silva.
Dr. Da Silva visited The Bahamas where he met Prime
Minister Perry G. Christie and met with CARICOM
Ministers of Agriculture.
The Bahamas Ambassador to the UN’s Food and
Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome, Italy presented a
copy of his book, Agriculture In The Bahamas: Its
Historical Development (1492-1992) to The Director-
General, Jacques Diouf.
Dr. Diouf visited The Bahamas on several occasions
where he spoke to CARICOM’s Heads of Government. He
was the first Sub-Saharan African to head FAO.
